| Kinetic energy | Easton recommends it for |
|---|---|
| Under 25 ft-lb | Small game like rabbits and groundhogs |
| 25 to 41 ft-lb | Medium game like deer and antelope |
| 42 to 65 ft-lb | Large game like elk, black bear and hogs |
| Over 65 ft-lb | The toughest game, like cape buffalo and grizzly bear |
Kinetic energy = arrow weight x speed squared / 450,240. Momentum = arrow weight x speed / 225,218. Estimated speed starts at your IBO rating and drops about 10 fps per inch of draw under 30" and about 1 fps for every 3 gr of arrow over 5 gr per pound of draw weight. Peeps, silencers and string accessories slow it a little more, so a chronograph reading is best. Want help building a harder hitting setup?
